New Thrill Parade!

Musical collective New Thrill Parade is a self-described band of darkness, with horns and chaos as a major part of their sound. The vocals carry that trademark California punk warble made famous by Jello Biafra, their brand of structurally complex jazz is reminiscent to that of Sun Ra or Miles Davis circa "Bitches Brew."

The band features some of the more theatrical characters in the music business; each wears a costume resembling a David Lynch-style setting in the back of some twisted Roman orgy festival.  Even so, their ring leader, Amitai, is one of the nicest people you're likely to meet in your life.

During their last trek through Atlanta, the band played the old ISP Space with the Coathangers and left quite an impression on everyone watching. Amitai was wearing his staple hawaiian button-down and white Miami style khakis, bringing the audience to a state of awe and disbelief with his antics and dead pan preacher-like delivery and enthusiasm. Members of his band were sporting face paint, togas, extravagant facial masks, head wreaths, a  girl in a panda bear suit playing a saxophone.

I'm definitely bringing my camera! You might want to take pictures of Mad Happy as well, as they tend to wear very few clothes.

I'm not sure that would be a selling point...
