Thursday, 04 June, Pine Magazine hosted a free show at Atlanta's Star Bar. Line-up included the rapidly rising Deleted Scenes, the fiery psychedelic soul spectacle Tres Bien, local favorites The Wild, Abby GoGo and newcomers Book of Colors. It was awesome, and our favorite photographer Kevin Griggs was there to take some pictures.
Deleted Scenes
Somber and soaring, the D.C./Brooklyn-based Deleted Scenes' sound is musically intricate, with spooky personal songwriting. The band recently received Pitchfork's seal of approval, and is currently on what appears to be a never-ending tour.
The band continues to grow in popularity and after a strong showing at SXSW, we are excited to see them back in Atlanta. Read Pine's review of their recent album, Birdseed Shirt, and see pictures from their set Thursday night.
The Wild
The celebratory storytelling and punk-folksy delivery of this three-piece makes you wonder how such clean guitars could get your body shaking so hard. The Wild are a lot of fun, and their approach, defiant in a Bob Dylan sort of way, should give kids everywhere the feeling that they can make a difference in the world, no matter how bad things get in the interim. Read more about the Wild's frontman Witt Wisebram's thoughts on the artist and the new presidental administration. Click here for pictures of the Wild from Thursday.
Tres Bien
Tres Bien hits hard with their catchy psychedelic rock and soul.
It's the 60's again, and garage rock is full swing, complete with organs and twangy tremolo guitar from this spunky four-piece.Tres Bien has amassed a solid Atlanta fanbase, reknowned for their high energy live shows, and smooth harmonies juxtaposed with lead singer Mikey Bostinto's screachin' howl. See pics from their set.
Abby GoGo
Abby GoGo plays spaced out, guitar-driven rock with incoherent vocals rising out of what appears to be a drug-induced haze of cacophonous sound. The group of modsters is quickly becoming one

of Atlanta's primary underground bands, hitting the the East Coast in June with The N.E.C. Here are some shots from their set downstairs at the Star Bar.
Book of Colors
Book of Colors is a new Atlanta act led by American-Brazilian Andre Paraguassu, who plays melodic music with a crooning swagger, a smile and a wink.
The lead vocals sounds a bit like Sendre Lerche with a backup band that livens things up with a bohemian singalong style. These guys are a lot of fun! Check out pictures from their set.
